MEDICINE TO RELEASE EP WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM ROBIN GUTHRIE AND BILLY CORGAN
Song and Band Featured in Soundtrack to "The Crow"

In a fantastic teaming of three pivotal players in alternative music, American Recordings' band Medicine has joined forces with Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins in a striking remix of the Medicine classic, "Time Baby 3," and with Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan for a remix of "She Knows Everything." The tracks will be included on the group's upcoming EP, The Sounds of Medicine, set for release on June 14.

"Time Baby II" originally appeared as a B-side on Medicine's 1992 UK EP 5ive. The song was then recently remixed by Guthrie for the new EP with Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins joining Medicine's Beth Thompson on background vocals. "She Knows Everything", a track originally heard on Medicine's current album, The Buried Life, was remixed by Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan.

Other tracks on The Sounds of Medicine include a remix of "Little Miss Drugstore" (from the band's debut album Shot Forth Self Living), new tracks "Zelzah," "Little Slut," (from The Buried Life), and "Lime 6", a chaotic sixteen-minute jam that was recorded live at Tiptina's nightclub in New Orleans.

In addition to the EP, a version of "Time Baby 3" is a key featured track on the current soundtrack to the Miramax Films fantasy action thriller "The Crow," starring the late Brandon Lee. Not only does Medicine's song appear on the Atlantic Records soundtrack album, but the band itself also appears in the film, performing "Time Baby 3" live. Other acts on the soundtrack include Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Rage Against the Machine, and The Cure.

Based in Los Angeles, Medicine's line-up includes guitarist/ songwriter/ producer/ vocalist Laner (a veteran of L.A.'s punk art underground), songwriter/ vocalist Beth Thompson, and drummer Jim Goodall. The band's distinctive amalgam of white noise and sweet-toned pop melodies has excited fans and critics across the country.
